What the model does well
Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance’s text-to-video and image-to-video model. Three things set it apart from most models you can use online:
- Multi-shot scenes in one clip. Write “cut to” in your prompt and it edits between shots on its own — a close-up, then a wide shot — while keeping the same characters and lighting.
- Native audio. Ambience, sound effects and lip-synced dialogue are generated together with the picture, so a clip is usable without an editing pass.
- Believable motion. Water, cloth, hair and crowds move with convincing physics, and camera moves like dolly-ins, orbits and handheld shots follow your directions closely.
On SiVideoGen you can run both versions: the full model for final, higher-resolution renders up to 1080p, and Mini, a faster and much cheaper variant that is ideal for testing prompts. Both support text to video and image to video, landscape and vertical formats, and clips of 4 to 10 seconds.

Seedance 2.0 · 5s · 480p · 135 credits
“A street drummer plays on a rainy night in a neon-lit alley, close-up on hands and drumsticks splashing water, then cut to a wide shot of a small crowd cheering under umbrellas, rhythmic drum beats and applause”
Seedance 2.0 Mini · 4s · 480p · 58 credits
“A golden retriever puppy runs through a field of sunflowers toward the camera, slow motion, warm afternoon light, happy barking and rustling leaves”
How to try Seedance 2.0 for free
“Seedance 2.0 free” is one of the most searched phrases around this model, so here is the honest version. Video models are expensive to run, and every free offer has a limit. Ours is simple:
- Sign in with Google. New accounts receive 60 credits once.
- Keep the preselected Mini model at 4 seconds and 480p — that clip costs 58 credits, so your first video with sound is free.
- Download the MP4, or keep it in My videos.
If you like the result, a credit pack unlocks the full model, longer clips and 720p or 1080p. There is no subscription and unused credits never expire, so you can buy once and come back whenever you have a new idea.
Seedance 2.0 price per clip
Seedance is priced by the amount of video it renders: resolution × length. Sound does not change the price. Here is every option we offer, in credits and in dollars at the Starter pack rate (larger packs include bonus credits and work out cheaper):
| Seedance 2.0 | ||
|---|---|---|
| Clip | Credits | ≈ Starter price |
| 5s · 480p | 135 | $1.34 |
| 10s · 480p | 269 | $2.66 |
| 5s · 720p | 304 | $3.01 |
| 10s · 720p | 607 | $6.01 |
| 5s · 1080p | 682 | $6.75 |
| 10s · 1080p | 1364 | $13.50 |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini | ||
|---|---|---|
| Clip | Credits | ≈ Starter price |
| 4s · 480p | 58 | $0.57 |
| 5s · 480p | 73 | $0.72 |
| 10s · 480p | 145 | $1.44 |
| 4s · 720p | 124 | $1.23 |
| 5s · 720p | 155 | $1.53 |
| 10s · 720p | 310 | $3.07 |
A practical routine: draft with Mini at 480p until the prompt does what you want, then render the keeper with the full model at 720p. If a render fails for any reason, the credits come back automatically. See all pricing for pack sizes.
Full model or Mini?
Pick Mini for ideas, storyboards, social clips at 480p or 720p, and any time you want to try several versions of one prompt. It costs roughly half as much as the full model at the same resolution and usually finishes faster.
Pick the full model when detail matters: faces in close-up, readable textures, complex crowd scenes, or a 1080p export for YouTube and ads. It also tends to keep characters more consistent across shots.
Writing prompts that work
Seedance follows film language better than keyword lists. A few habits that help:
- Describe shots in order and join them with “then cut to”. Two or three shots fit comfortably in 5–10 seconds.
- Name the camera: close-up, wide shot, low angle, slow push-in, handheld, drone shot.
- Put dialogue in quotes and say who speaks it — the model lip-syncs the line.
- End with sound: list the ambience and effects you want, or write “no music”.
- For image to video, describe only what moves; the picture already defines the look.
How it compares with other models
It is a strong default for story-driven clips with sound. If you need the newest ByteDance quality, Seedance 2.5 is available in the same model list. Google’s Veo 3.1 Lite is cheaper for single-shot clips with audio, Kling 3.0 Turbo shines with fast action, and Grok Imagine is quick for stylized and anime looks. Because they all share one credit balance, you can run the same prompt on two models and keep the better one. Compare them on theAI video generator page or read our Grok Imagine guide.
Seedance 2.0 FAQ
Is Seedance 2.0 free?
You can try it free here: sign up with Google and you get 60 credits, enough for one 4-second Mini clip with sound (58 credits). After that it is pay-per-clip. No site can honestly offer unlimited free renders, because every second of video costs real GPU time.
How much does Seedance 2.0 cost?
A 5-second 480p clip costs 135 credits and a 5-second 720p clip costs 304 credits. The Mini version starts at 58 credits. With the $9.90 Starter pack that works out to roughly $1.34 for a 480p clip from the full model.
Who made Seedance 2.0?
Seedance is ByteDance’s video model family, built by the company’s Seed research team. Version 2.0 added native audio, multi-shot editing and stronger camera control; Seedance 2.5 is the newer flagship.
Can it turn a photo into a video?
Yes. Switch the generator to Image to video, upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image and describe the motion. Seedance keeps your picture as the opening frame and animates it, with sound if you leave audio on.
Does it generate sound?
Yes. Audio is on by default and includes ambience, sound effects and lip-synced speech for lines you put in quotes. Switching sound off does not change the price.
Can I use the videos commercially?
Yes, the clips you generate are yours to use in ads, social posts and client work, as long as they follow our Terms of Service and ByteDance’s usage policies. We add no visible watermark.
