MiniMax H3 and H3 Max Turbo
MiniMax, the company behind the Hailuo video app, announced H3 on July 31, 2026 as the next step after Hailuo 02 and 2.3. In MiniMax’s own products H3 makes 4 to 15-second clips with stereo sound, dialogue in eleven languages and several reference images, videos or audio clips per generation. MiniMax also released H3’s weights publicly, which let other teams build on it.
fal, the model platform we run every model through, did exactly that. In August 2026 it post-trained those weights into H3 Max and a faster H3 Max Turbo, and that Turbo version is the one on SiVideoGen. You get:
- Close prompt following. Long prompts with several details — props, colors, camera, mood — come through more completely than on most models.
- Built-in prompt expansion. Short ideas are rewritten into fuller shot descriptions before rendering, so even a few words give usable results.
- Six frame shapes. 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 and an ultra-wide 21:9 for cinematic shots.
- Three resolutions. Native 480p and 768p, plus 1080p made by refining a 768p render.
- Silent output. The Turbo build does not generate audio; plan to add music or narration yourself.

“Anime style opening: a girl runs across a rooftop at sunset, city skyline behind her, wind in her hair, dynamic camera”
MiniMax H3 Max Turbo · 5s · 480p · 38 credits
“Claymation style: a cheerful clay snail with a tiny backpack crawls across a mossy log, stop-motion look, soft studio light”

“A sea turtle swims over a colorful coral reef, sunbeams through clear blue water, nature documentary style”
MiniMax H3 pricing
H3 Max Turbo is billed per second of video and is our cheapest model at 480p and 768p. All options, with their value on the Starter pack:
| MiniMax H3 Max Turbo | ||
|---|---|---|
| Clip | Credits | ≈ Starter price |
| 5s · 480p | 38 | $0.34 |
| 10s · 480p | 75 | $0.68 |
| 5s · 768p | 60 | $0.54 |
| 10s · 768p | 120 | $1.08 |
| 5s · 1080p | 120 | $1.08 |
| 10s · 1080p | 240 | $2.16 |
A 5-second clip costs 38 credits at 480p ($0.34), 60 at 768p and 120 at 1080p. That makes it a good engine for volume: storyboards, a dozen variations of an ad concept, or B-roll you will cut to music. Failed renders are refunded automatically.
Good jobs for MiniMax H3
- Stylized shorts: anime openings, claymation, watercolor and paper-cut looks that hold their style for the whole clip.
- Storyboards and animatics where you need many cheap takes of a scene before choosing one.
- Music-driven edits: silent clips are ready to cut to your own track without fighting a generated soundtrack.
- Wide establishing shots in 21:9 for intros, trailers and channel banners.
How to get a free MiniMax H3 clip
- Sign in with Google; new accounts receive 90 credits once.
- Keep MiniMax H3 Max Turbo selected and choose 5 seconds at 768p for the model’s best native quality.
- Write a detailed prompt, generate, and download the MP4 when it is ready.
At 60 credits, that first 768p clip is covered by the welcome credits, with room left for a 480p test. Credits never expire and no subscription is required.
Writing long prompts for MiniMax H3
This model rewards detail, so it is the place to use the long prompt you have been saving:
- List what must appear. Name every prop, color and character; H3 is good at keeping all of them in the frame.
- Fix the style in one phrase. “Claymation”, “anime opening”, “watercolor”, “nature documentary” switch the whole look.
- Pick the shape on purpose. 21:9 suits landscapes and title shots, 9:16 suits a single character, 1:1 suits product loops.
- Leave out sound cues. The clip is silent, so spend those words on the picture instead.
- Draft at 480p. Composition carries over well, so lock the prompt cheaply before a 768p or 1080p render.
MiniMax H3 vs other models
Choose H3 Max Turbo for detailed, stylized or high-volume work where you will add the soundtrack yourself. When the model should make the sound, Veo 3.1 Lite costs about the same for short clips with audio; Kling 3.0 Turbo is better at fast action, and Seedance 2.5 at multi-shot storytelling. Compare them all from the AI video generator, or read the Wan 3.0 guide for another option with flexible frame shapes and optional sound.
MiniMax H3 FAQ
Is MiniMax H3 free?
Your first clips here are. New accounts get 90 credits, and a 5-second H3 Max Turbo clip costs 38 credits at 480p or 60 at 768p, so you can try it without paying. After that, credit packs start at $4.99.
What is H3 Max Turbo?
A faster build of MiniMax H3 made by fal, the model platform we use. fal post-trained MiniMax’s openly released H3 weights and announced H3 Max and H3 Max Turbo in August 2026. Turbo is the quicker of the two.
Does MiniMax H3 generate sound?
MiniMax’s own H3 generates stereo audio, but the H3 Max Turbo version we run returns silent video. Add music or a voice-over in your editor, or pick Veo 3.1 Lite, Wan 3.0 or Kling 3.0 when you need sound from the model.
Is MiniMax H3 the same as Hailuo?
Related. Hailuo is MiniMax’s video app and earlier model line (Hailuo 02 and 2.3). H3, announced on July 31, 2026, is the next generation of that line.
Which resolution should I pick?
768p is the model’s native sweet spot and the default. 480p is the cheapest for drafts. 1080p adds a refinement pass on top of a 768p render, so it costs twice as much as 768p.
Can I start from an image?
Yes. Choose Image to video and upload a JPG, PNG or WebP picture; the clip takes the shape of your image. Describe only the motion you want, since the picture already sets the look.
